Mr. Tauber founded Progressive Lighting & Energy Solutions in 2004, and now assumes the chief executive position. In this evolved role, he plans and leads the strategic direction of the company, drawing upon his expertise with lighting-reduction projects and photovoltaic (solar) lighting. Tauber has been involved in the energy-conservation industry since 1999. He previously owned TSN Marketing, an international marketing services company. He also is a veteran of the cable television industry, serving as president of a midsize cable network, The Silent Network.
William C. Tauber is a nationally recognized expert on energy reduction and solar power. He has been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, The Orange County Register, FoxBusiness, Kiplinger, Investors, ABC and Forbes websites, California's "Flex Your Power" and several environmental newsletters and websites.
Tauber is a member of the Freemasonry fraternal society and serves on the military committee of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation of Southern California, being a former U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Northern Illinois.
He currently is an active member of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Los Angeles,Orange County and San Diego chapters.
Randy J. Parole - President
Mr. Parole is currently the President of Progressive Lighting & Energy Solutions, after joining the company in May 2006 as executive vice president. As president today, Parole works closely with Tauber to oversee the company’s operations, financials and business development. He brings solid credentials and 28 years of experience working with businesses to improve lighting and energy consumption for commercial buildings.
Prior to Progressive Lighting & Energy Solutions, Parole served as regional vice president of Amtech Lighting Services, managing finances and operations for the company’s $30 million Southwest U.S. region. Before that, he was president of Lighting Management Systems, a commercial lighting retrofit and energy services business. He also was branch manager of ABM Lighting Services’ Anaheim, Calif. location.
Parole is a Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC), a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) and an active member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). He received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Johnson comes to Progressive Lighting & Energy Solutions, Inc. with over 18 years experience in signage, lighting and energy conservation. He has held Senior Management positions with Amtech Lighting and Federal Sign & Signal where he successfully managed $25 million budgets.
Mr. Johnson specializes in energy conservation and retrofits by designing creative solutions through lighting and other electrical means within the retail, commercial, industrial, government and distribution industries. He partners with Property Managers and Owners, CFO’s, CEO’s and top-level executives in an effort to balance their investment and energy savings for the greatest benefit to their bottom-line.
Mr. Johnson is looking forward to the innovation and advancement of the lighting industry as it shifts toward “Greening” buildings and facilities. He is an active member of both the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) in both Los Angeles and Orange County.
Rudy Ohrt, Senior Account Executive
Mr. Ohrt specializes in Commercial and Industrial projects. Mr. Ohrt works with both asset managers and operation personnel to optimize lighting and energy measures. With a background in facilities and commercial buildings, Mr. Ohrt has had regional management positions for Westinghouse and Protection One, focusing on Access Control and Security Systems.
Mr. Ohrt is active in both the Los Angeles and Orange County chapters of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Mr. Ohrt is a graduate of Michigan State University with a BA in Business and a short stint in Law School. His professional licenses include C-10 Electrical, the California B General Contractors license and State of California Real Estate appraisal and Real Estate Sales License.

Michael Hamilton, San Diego Sales Executive
Michael graduated from Cornell University with a BS in the Science of Earth Systems where he focused on sustainability issues, including energy efficiency and the role of private sector industries in helping promote energy conservation. His passion for sustainability and the world energy crisis led him to Progressive Lighting and Energy Solutions.
He is committed to improving quality of life and reducing business’s operating costs by implementing energy conservation measures.
Susan Bobay, Inside Sales Coordinator
Susan assists all Outside Sales efforts to efficiently service the business client with support services. She interfaces with Executive Staff, Operations, and Marketing to bring the latest developments to our clients and offer solutions in helping these projects get to mobilization. She will also be initiating communication to new potential clients and setting qualified appointments for our outside staff.
Susan brings many years of professional business to business sales experience negotiating large computer media contracts for Fortune 500 data centers in the Bay Area and subsequent inside sales to the boutique Financial Planning industry. She has worked closely with manufacturers bringing new product to market, as understands the relationships between Manufacturers, Distributors and project solutions to the client.
She will work to initiate communication to the executive financial team of companies to educate them on the tremendous value of becoming “green” through our energy efficient lighting projects. She will show compelling examples of how effective these measures can be in the reduction of their fixed operating expenses.
Jim Erickson, Project Manager & Lodging Saver Manager - 2007 Employee of the Year
Mr. Erickson is a project manager with Progressive Lighting & Energy Solutions, Inc.
Mr. Erickson joined the company in July of 2006 after completing both his Bachelor and Master of Sciences degrees from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. His studies focused on the introduction of new technologies in the marketplace, management of technical projects, and methods for continuous improvement.
Mr. Erickson manages the planning and execution of each lighting upgrade and hotel retrofit performed by the company. He believes constant communication and attention to detail at all stages of the project are crucial to its success. Mr. Erickson is proud to help each of his clients reduce their operating costs, create a safer and more productive work environment, and help the environment in the process. He is committed to green energy as a means to improve the world.
Mr. Erickson enjoys surfing, cycling, triathlon, and other outdoor activities and sports as well as spending time with friends and family.
Lisa Langley, Director Project Development
Lisa Langley comes to Progressive Lighting & Energy Solutions, Inc. with 0ver 12 years of experience in the lighting and energy services business. Prior to Progressive, Ms. Langley worked for one of the nation’s largest lighting and energy service providers as Service Manager, Sale Representative and Regional Administrative Manager.
As Director of Project Development, Ms. Langley will use her knowledge working directly with the Sales team and the client to develop the best possible energy solutions for that clients needs by specifying product and application.
Ms. Langley holds the esteemed professional lighting credential of CLMC (Certified Lighting Management Consultant) and has implemented and managed large national multi location energy projects such as Bank of America, The Limited Stores and Albertsons.
Shirley, Purchasing Agent
Shirley is the purchasing agent for Progressive Lighting & Energy Solutions.
Shirley had joined the company at the very beginning and is an important first round employee of Progressive at the time of the company's launch.
Her talent, knowledge and experience of Progressive's complete operation and installation process has made a major contribution to the enormous success and meteoric rise of the company as California’s leading lighting and energy solution company.
Melissa Lavallee, Office Administrator
Mrs. Lavallee joined the Progressive & Lighting Energy Solutions Team in March of 2007. As Office Administrator, Melissa reports directly to Mr. Tauber and Mr. Parole, and aids in the daily general work of the office as directed.
Prior to her service at Progressive, Lavallee held various positions which prepared her to succeed as Office Administrator at Progressive. Melissa’s titles and work experience include: Senior Sales Director for a national cosmetic company, Marketing Coordinator for a voicemail broadcasting corporation, Manager for an Orange County based coffee chain, and Account Representative for a widely recognized mutual fund company. Her employment mix of sales, marketing, customer service, and management experience built a solid foundation to be a strong asset at Progressive.
Lavallee received her Bachelor’s degree in English from Cal State Fullerton, and was secretary of the English Honor’s Society. She was also the student liaison of the Orange County Paralegal Association.
